Grenada and St Vincent & the Grenadines grabbed the second semi final spot in the Digicel Caribbean Cup New York, to join St Lucia and Jamaica in what is sure to be an exciting semi-final at the Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, New York, Sunday,
August 30th.
During the first quarter final match, five-time champions St Vincent & the Grenadines survived a determined challenge from Antigua & Barbuda, walking away with a 1-0 advantage in front of a full house of supporters armed with Digicel horns and drums.
In the second quarter final, former Digicel Caribbean Cup New York champions, Grenada, scored twice against St Kitts & Nevis—although one was subsequently disallowed—and held on to win 1-0.
Grenada now faces defending Digicel Caribbean Cup New York champions, Jamaica, on Sunday August 30th in what can best be described as a ‘grudge’ match. Grenada, with five CONCACAF Gold Cup players in its team, was thrashed 3-0 by Jamaica in a regular season conference match last month.
The semi-finals take place on Sunday August 30th at 3:30 pm
