Saturdays in the Caribbean

In the Caribbean,Saturdays are primarily spent Cleaning, Cooking, Baking, Washing and Shopping.

For many early birds, the beach has already been visited, so has the Vegetable Markets and the Meat Stalls.
Grenada FlagOn the menu in Grenada today you can get a variety of dishes from Oil Down (the country's National Dish)to Soups and Pelau.
SVG FlagIn St.Vincent you can grab a smooth rich Calaloo Soup from just about any where. Check out Delano  adjacent to the Kingstown Post Office, Soup master on the entrance to (the bus terminal)"Little Tokyo" or just about any other location.
You can also get some Breadfruit and Saltfish/Smoked Herring/Black Fish, i guess your taste buds are flourishing with water... Can you taste the dishes already? I can imagine.
bdsBarbados is regarded as the land of the flying fish, well trust me on Saturdays the flying fishes actually stay away giving way to the Pudding and Souse yes........... Pickled Breadfruit with Sweet Potato Pudding and Souse (Pig, Chicken Feet, Cow) ask for it they have it.

Lets move away from the food, pass through the capitals they are bustling with traffic; people shopping for food for the next day, the weekend and by extension the week.

Visit the villages you see the clothes on the lines, the fences in some cases the river stones. LAUNDRY HAS BEEN DONE.

Do you smell that? Is it Bread,Cake? Is someone baking? Whatever it is am leaving this forum to go and sample see you next week when I will focus on three other Caribbean countries.
