The Jamaica Anti Doping Appeals Tribunal this morning upheld the not guilty verdict that their Disciplinary Committee had handed down a few weeks ago in respect of sprinter Sherri-Ann Brooks.
Lead attorney representing all five athletes charged, Lincoln Eatmon confirmed the tribunal’s decision to free Brooks, but said the case involving the additional four was adjourned until September 14.
"Regarding Sheri-Ann Brooks, they upheld the decision of the Disciplinary Panel and so there is no finding against her … Legally she has been cleared, so it will now be up to WADA and the IAAF," Eatmon said.
She will now have to await the ratification of this ruling by the World Anti-Doping Agency and the IAAF.
Brooks along with Yohan Blake, Allodin Fothergill, Marvin Anderson and Lanceford Spence had returned Adverse Analytical Findings (AAF) from tests done at the National Championships, June 26-28. They all missed the World Championships for which they had booked places at the Championships.
