Jailed Texas financier R. Allen Stanford was taken to a hospital after he and another inmate got into a fight at a Conroe prison.
The Houston Chronicle reports Alfredo Perez, with the U.S. Marshals Service, said Stanford's injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
Perez wouldn't say what hospital the 59-year-old Stanford was taken to because of security concerns.
The fight happened about 10 a.m. Thursday at the Joe Corley Detention Facility.
Kent Schaffer, one of Stanford's attorneys, said he had little information about the incident.
Calls by The Associated Press Saturday to the U.S. Marshals Service weren't immediately returned.
Stanford is awaiting trial on charges his financial empire was really a sprawling Ponzi scheme that went bust
