“CRICKET CLASSICS” MAKES FIFTH VISIT TO GRENADA

Press Release from the Grenada Board of Tourism

Dateline St. George’s: Cricketing legend Sir Vivian Richards will this weekend join Allan Lamb and a host of cricketing heroes from the West Indies, England and Australia at the 2009 Grenada Cricket Classics. An added attraction on Sunday October 11 is a series of Bingo games where patrons will be able to win thousands of dollars. This calculated pull from Waggy–T and his crew is destined to augment the atmosphere of fun and excitement that usually characterize cricket in Grenada.

The two (2) Twenty20 matches on both days will showcase skills that should still evoke sensations of awe among spectators. These games would involve the participation of popular names like Curtley Ambrose, Craig White, Sherwin Campbell, Richie Richardson, Derek Randall, Rob Bailey, Vasbert Drakes, Kenny Benjamin, Devon Malcolm and Grenada’s Junior Murray.

The weekend festival is not limited to the former cricketing heroes from England, Australia and the West Indies. National Twenty20 teams from Barbados and Grenada will engage each other in games on both days.
