GRENADA: Prominent sportsman hospitalised, wife murdered

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – Police are investigating the murder of Sheron Bethel Lendore, the wife of a prominent sportsman, who was found dead at her home over the weekend.

The lawmen in the sister island of Carriacou, said that the sportsman, Joel Lendore, has since been hospitalised under police guard.

Paramedics confirmed that when they reached the home of the couple in the southern village of Lestere, they found the throat of the Bishop College teacher had been slashed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbours said they were alerted to the incident by family members who had attempted to reach the couple by telephone late on Saturday.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the island of 6,000 where Lendore is revered as a sporting icon having represented Carriacou in cricket, football and track and field.

He is also employed as the island’s Sports Officer with the Grenada government

  1. This is very sad and embarrassing for the people of Carriacou, I pray that Sharon would rest in peace and Joel would be convicted and get the mental health therapy that he needs.
