The Trinidad and Tobago juniors ended their tour on a high note onm Saturday when they defeated the hosts to capture the Barbados National Sports Council’s (NSC) Invitational Under-13 Ten10 title.
Playing in the final at the Dover Ground, T&T sped to victory at 91 for two off 8.2 overs, replying to the Barbados total of 88 for seven off their 10 overs.
Ramar Miller (20), Shaquille Richards (18 not out) and captain Lee Gaskin (16) led the scoring for Barbados while Justin Joseph (2-13) was the top T&T bowler.
The all-rounder Brian Christmas then cracked a magnificent match-winning 48 not out and Jesse Bootan supported with an unbeaten 23 to steer T&T to victory with 10 balls to spare.
T&T had emerged joint champions with Barbados in the main 30-overs per side NSC U-13 Invitational series, both finishing with 10 points and 5-1 records.
St Kitts All Stars and a local NSC Development side also participated in the series.
