CCC under pressure

Nikolai Charles and Ryan Hinds shared seven wickets between them to give Barbados a slight advantage over Combined Campuses & Colleges in the WICB regional first-class championship yesterday.

Charles captured four wickets for 46 runs from 14.1 overs, and Hinds took three for 41 from 16.2 overs, as the CCC were dismissed for 213 in their first innings.

Barbados then reached 33 for one at the close on the opening day of the second-round match at Grove Park.

The CCC's total was built around Nekoli Parris' solid 47 and an obdurate, unbeaten 45 from Romel  Currency, but the tournament's early, joint leaders were unable to gain control after choosing to bat.

The exchanges were evenly shared in the morning session that saw CCC going to the break at 67 for two, but Charles turned the tide in Barbados' favour with three of the four wickets in the afternoon period.
