Preparations for Grammy award-winning superstar Beyonce’s February 18 concert have begun as scaffolding has been put up around the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain near the Queen’s Royal College.
When checks were made at the venue yesterday, two stages were under construction and more scaffolding was being put up.
Also seen observing the works was retired cricket star Brian Lara who has been hired as one of the organisers of the event under his and footballer Dwight Yorke’s company Lay Management.
When asked if he was pleased with preparations so far, he said: “I do not know what you are talking about.”
TSTT manager of media relations and corporate communications Graeme Suite said yesterday the cordoned off area was to cater to security.
He noted they were catering to over 20,000 patrons to attend the concert, and tickets were still on sale.
