A bomb threat phoned in to Royal Caribbean's call centers yesterday has been found to be a hoax.
The ship returned safely to Miami today.
According to a statement from the cruise line, a call was made to Royal Caribbean on Saturday afternoon stating that there was a bomb on Liberty of the Seas.
The bomb scare "was viewed as NOT credible due to the nature and content of the threat," but to be safe, the line notified law enforcement authorities and conducted a ship wide security search. Nothing was found to be amiss.
Liberty of the Seas was sailing a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise, roundtrip from Miami. The bomb hoax did not affect the ship's turnaround in Miami today.
