Day of prayer called for Barbados Prime Minister David Thompson

Next Sunday, May 23, 2010, has been declared a national day of prayer for our ailing Prime Minister David Thompson.

The call for prayer was initiated by eucharistic minister Hilford Murrell and has been embraced by congregations all over Barbados.

Our Prime Minister appeared thinner than we last saw him, but was in good spirit last Friday when he and his doctor revealed his medical troubles during a press conference. His condition sounds serious though.

The PM has been absent for a few weeks and will be absent for a few more while having some tests done in New York for stomach pains.

We see news articles about the PM’s condition from all over and as far away as China and India.

Barbados Free Press joins in prayers for Prime Minister Thompson and his family.

We hope his medical troubles turn out to be nothing too serious and that he will be well soon.
