Clinton is scheduled to visit Barbados June 9-10, 2010, where she will meet with Caribbean foreign ministers and government leaders.

On June 6-8 in Peru, Clinton will participate in the General Assembly of the Organization of American States General Assembly, the Western Hemisphere’s premier multilateral organization. The Secretary will then travel to Ecuador and Colombia, meeting with government leaders in both countries.

Clinton’s visit comes on the heels of the inaugural Caribbean-US Security Cooperation Dialogue held in Washington on May 27, 2010.

Representatives from all CARICOM nations, the Dominican Republic, and observer partner nations participated in a dialogue that established a framework for security engagement, a declaration of principles, and a plan of action.

The CBSI seeks to substantially reduce illicit trafficking, increase public safety and security, and promote social justice.
