TORONTO, Canada (AP) — A woman has been killed and 13 others injured after a Canadian transit bus collided with a flatbed truck carrying a crane.
Police say the collision happened yesterday afternoon when the bus rear-ended the truck just as rush hour began east of a busy Toronto highway.
Constable Hugh Smith says both vehicles were travelling westbound and the bus appears to have been changing lanes when it collided into the truck.
Smith says the 43-year-old woman who was killed was a passenger on the bus.
He says nine people were taken to hospital after the collision, six of whom were sent to the trauma unit. Smith says four other injured people refused to be taken to hospital.
Mike DeToma, Toronto Transit Commission spokesman, could not say how many people were on the bus.
