Investigators with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating a potential murder-suicide with the victims discovered in two separate locations; one in Coral Springs and the other in Pompano Beach.
According to BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion, someone called BSO dispatch at 9:51 a.m. on Saturday to report that there was a dead woman inside a car in the parking lot of a Walmart located at 2300 W. Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach. The car was filled with flower bouquets and it’s still not known why.
About ten minutes later, the body of a 27-year-old man was found floating in a canal in the Lakewood Village complex in the 9900 block of Twin Lakes Drive in Coral Springs, which is about 7 miles away from the Walmart.
“At this time our detectives have been able to confirm that they believe the two scenes are linked,” said Concepcion.

When CBS4’s Lauren Pastrana approached him, he refused to be interviewed on camera but did say the man in the canal was his nephew.
He said his nephew had an on-again, off-again relationship for more than two years with a woman, possibly the one found in the Walmart parking lot.
He said he hadn’t seen his nephew in days and doesn’t know how he ended up in the canal.
A neighbor who didn’t want to be identified said she believes her community is safe.
“It’s a very neighborhood, there’s nothing much going on so it was disturbing.”
Based on evidence gathered at both scenes, detectives believe the 35-year-old woman was murdered and the man killed himself — though they are waiting for confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s office for the exact cause of death.
“The investigation is at its infancy stages and they do want to make sure they explore all different possibilities and avenues before they can say that with certainty,” said Concepcion.
The person who claimed to be the dead man’s uncle said his nephew did not live in the community although his vehicle was found in the parking lot.
The names of the deceased have not been released.
