ST GEORGE'S, Grenada, November 12, 2009 - The company responsible for the construction of a marina in Grenada is promising scores of jobs for citizens when it is fully established.

Operations Director of Camper and Nicholsons Marinas International, James Beaver, said close to 100 jobs will be made available at the Port Louis Marina.

He said the marina, which will consist of 160-170 berths, will incorporate Grenadian businesses that will provide supporting services for yachtsmen using the facility.

Works Minister Joseph Gilbert says the current phase of construction is expected to be completed by Christmas, adding that Camper and Nicholsons is considering moving into a 24-hour work operation.

Apart from the General Manager and the Project Manager, the rest of the workforce on the project comprises Grenadian and other Caribbean nationals.

Gilbert reassured the marina officials of the government's continued support for the success of the project.
