More than 24 hours have passed since a plane carrying two men left Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and disappeared in the Bahamas on their way to Grenada.
Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard are continuing a search for Travis Compton and Bancroft Nyack, who were reportedly aboard a twin-engine aircraft that went down in an area about 10 miles northeast of Plana Cays, Bahamas at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
The plane, a Piper Aztec PA-23, left Fort Lauderdale at 8:02 a.m. and was en route to Providenciales International Airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands, according to FlightAware.com, which tracks flights nationwide.
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for two people after a small plane apparently crashed near the Bahamas.
Coast Guard officials in Miami said Friday that the plane's last known location was about 10 miles northeast of Plana Cays, Bahamas.
Travis Compton and Bancroft Nyack departed the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport on Thursday in a Piper PA-27 twin engine-aircraft. Officials say the men were flying to Grenada.
