NEW MANAGER PROMISES “NO BREAKING OF RULES’’ AT MARKET SQUARE

St. George’s, January 6, 2010:  A change is coming in the way business is done at the St. George’s Market Square, with a promise of strict enforcement of rules.

The promise has been made by newly appointed Market Square manager, Ralph Lord.  He has described his first task as making the Market Square more comfortable and customer friendly, and to get vendors to understand that the market is their place of business.

The objective is “to bring the market to a place where the vendors would want to leave their homes to come on mornings, and where Grenadians on a whole will feel proud of and want to go,’’ added Mr. Lord, who replaces ailing former manager Adams Samuel.

Mr. Lord claimed that he has done his research and is quite aware of all activities at the St. George’s Market Square.  He has pledged to work with “all forces and institutions’’ to guarantee that orderliness is maintained in the market.

Structures, he said, will be put in place to ensure that “what is supposed to happen in the market happens, and what is not to happen does not happen.’’  That, according to Mr. Lord, is “the bottom line’’ and there will be “no bending of rules’’ and “no breaking of rules.’’
