The police have their hands full as in the space of 24 hours three robberies have taken place, one occurring at Big Banana 17º61 restaurant at VC Bird International Airport.
The thief or thieves broke into the establishment, located on the upper level of the airport terminal, at approximately 3:20 am Sunday and made off with approximately EC $5000 and some keys, which were
“We know that (was the time) because he disabled the security camera at that (time),” said one of the directors of the company.
“We have a safe where we keep our float and that was broken into,” the director said.
Meantime, it was business as usual on Sunday afternoon, when The Daily OBSERVER visited the restaurant. Patrons appeared oblivious to the incident. The employees were busy serving meals.
Perhaps, because of the frequency of crime in Antigua one employee shrugged at the fact that the establishment was open so soon after the incident saying, “Ah so it go.”
