The Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) Joan Gordon-Webley is to meet with a private garbage contractor tomorrow morning after a child’s body was found at the Riverton City Landfill in St. Andrew on Sunday.
The meeting was initially scheduled for today but has been put off because the contractor is out of town.
Gordon-Webley says she will be seeking to find out how the baby’s body was dumped onto the landfill.
Webley says information received by the driver indicates that it’s not the first time that a body has been dumped onto the landfill.
She says the NSWMA will be conducting its own probe to determine if there was a breach and how to prevent a repeat
