Ryan Brathwaite gets Olympic honour in Barbados

Ryan The Barbados Olympic Association has honoured sprint hurdles World Champion, Ryan Brathwaite by presenting the young star with the President’s Award at its annual awards dinner at the weekend.

The 21-year-old Brathwaite collected the President’s Award and was named the Barbados Olympic Association’s Most Outstanding Personality.

He also received a cheque for an undisclosed amount.

Brathwaite created history at the IAAF World Championship in Berlin in August by becoming the first Barbadian to win a global senior track and field title with his win in the 110 metres hurdles.

He clocked a career-best and CARICOM record 13.14 seconds to win the World Championship title in Berlin.
